Tui Na
Tui Na is the most common form of acupressure practised in China. It means “push and grasp” and involves vigorous body massage using techniques such as one-finger manipulation, rubbing, kneading and rolling to recharge the body’s energy levels.
Treatment is done on a table or floor mat and no oils are used. You are not required to undress, although loose fitting clothes are advised.
Up to 20 sessions may be needed and many people have regular treatment to promote health and well-being.
Tui Na is especially useful in treating the following health conditions:
arthritis, anxiety, back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, digestive problems (such as coeliac disease, colitis, constipation, crohn’s disease, diarrhoea, IBS, indigestion, peptic ulcers), headaches, high blood pressure, insomnia, menstrual problems (such as dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, menopause, menorrhagia, PMS), migraines, nausea, stress.
